Pay money for a Halifax bank account? You may have been mis-sold a Halifax Packaged Bank Account (PBA). You may be entitled to compensation.
Packaged Bank Accounts are current accounts with extras bolted on – features like travel insurance and access to other financial products. In exchange for these additional features, account holders pay a monthly fee.
We’ve made claiming easy. Simply send us your details with one of our Claim Packs and we’ll take care of everything for you. No paperwork. No dealing with the bank direct. Just one form and you’re done.
Even if you’re still paying the monthly fee. Even if you’ve closed the account or downgraded it within the last 3 years. If you think you have a case to make, we can make it for you.

Halifax’s Packaged Bank Account is called the Ultimate Reward account. At a cost of £15 per month (£10 per month if you pay in more than £750 every month and stay in credit), account holders get worldwide multi-trip travel insurance, AA breakdown cover, mobile phone insurance and home emergency cover.
As part of HBOS, Halifax has actually received the fewest complaints of all the major banks regarding PBAs. However, the bank landed itself in hot water in 2012 when it became apparent that they had raised the price of the Ultimate Reward account from £12.50 per month to £15 per month without telling great swathes of account holders.
If this was you – and you have yet to receive compensation – you have grounds for a claim. And if you were informed, you still may have been mis-sold the account. Don’t forget, HBOS is also part of the Lloyds Banking Group, one of the worst PPI offenders.
Current accounts in the UK are usually free. Packaged Bank Accounts (PBA) are not. PBAs combine day-to-day banking with other products, typically insurance.
These can represent excellent value for money. But that depends on you, as an account holder, actually requiring those products and/or being eligible to use them.
Banks have admitted to routinely over-selling PBAs to customers who either do not need the products packaged with the account, or are ineligible to use them – making astounding profits at the expense of their own customers.
Hundreds of millions of pounds have been earmarked to compensate customers. If you think you may be due some of this money, get in touch and we will help you make your claim.
