Bank of Scotland offers two Packaged Bank Accounts – referred to as Added Value Accounts. The Silver Account costs £9.95 per month and includes UK & EU travel insurance, AA breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance. The Platinum Account costs £17 per month and includes all of the above plus worldwide travel insurance, and either family or winter sports insurance. Both are available only as an upgrade to existing Classic Account holders.
Although HBOS have relatively few complaints – 1.5 per 1,000 customers – its parent company, Lloyds Banking Group, has set aside a whopping £175 million for compensation: some of which you may be entitled to.
